Podcasts and Edits

It’s Thorsday everyone – the day dedicated to the God of Thunder himself.  I wish I had my own day of the week, Jereday.  We could insert it between Saturday and Sunday which would then give us a three-day weekend.  In that scenario, I think we all win.

Sorry, crazy tangent there.  Let’s get back on topic.  First up, later today Jeff and I will be doing our very first podcast.  I know exactly what you’re thinking – why the hell are you two doing a podcast?  Excellent question and I wish I had a good reason besides we want to.  The show itself will be our random ramblings about ourselves, different books we’ve read, and of course our favorite beers.  The aim is for the show to last 12-15 minutes (perfect to keep you occupied over your break at work) and be somewhat informative/entertaining.  The link to the first show will be posted on Facebook (www.facebook.com/groups/brewsandbooks) sometime today.  I’ll also post a link tomorrow with the next set of The Cactus Killer chapters incase you’d like to take it in.

Look at that, the perfect follow in to my next topic – the re-editing of The Cactus Killer.  Let me start with a little back story:  most of you know my wife Steph does my edits, or well most of them.  Vampires and werewolves aren’t her cup of tea, so I didn’t enlist her help.  When I had finished The Cactus Killer, I’d been through the process twice already and figured I could edit the book myself.  I was wrong.

Lately, the book has been picked up by quite a few people.  Everyone loved the story but said it really could use another eye on the edits.  Being one to admit when I’m wrong, I found a very good editor who agreed to take the book and break it down.  This past Monday, she gave it back to me and presto! the newly edited book is now available on Amazon.

Also included in the 2nd edition of The Cactus Killer is the first two chapters of The Wrath of Pan.  It’s only 99 cents to go grab it, so what are you waiting for?

Well that was a lot to take in and I appreciate you sticking around until the end.  Well until tomorrow where we will pick back up with Vic and Liz…

Feel free to friend me on Facebook too at www.facebook.com/jcroston2 (there is another one of me out there apparently).
