You know when something awesome happens that you’re totally not prepared for? Well, that happened to me today. I found out The Negative Man: City of Chaos was nominated for The Summer Independent Author’s Science Fiction Award. I didn’t even know what to say.
Then something crazy happened. People began voting for me too. In the matter of a few hours, all the work and late nights I spend writing (as I have a regular 8-5 job too) became worth it.
A random thought hit me right before I decided to write this up. Being nominated with the group of awesome authors that’s competing with me is cool – but winning, that’s where it’s at. No matter how long of a shot it is, if you’re not in it to win it, what’s the point, you know?
“The book that started it all”
So that’s where the message of this post comes in. It’s a readers’ choice award, giving you all the power to change someone’s life. I know a lot of you read City of Chaos through my blog when I posted all the free chapters, so it’d be an honor if you gave it a vote today. Hey no one gave Rocky Balboa much of a chance against Apollo Creed, but he won (eventually that is!)
Before I post the link, I just want to thank you all for following along with this crazy journey of mine. Even if you don’t vote, the fact you take the time to read my blog posts is awesome. As I sign off, here’s that link where you can vote: http://www.poll-maker.com/poll534611x174E4360-22
