The Adventures in Dadland – Finding a Pumpkin Patch

Sooooo, this past weekend my wife and I wanted to take our little guy to a pumpkin patch for Steph’s birthday. We both have incredibly fond memories of pumpkin patches and wanted to start fall off right. It’s October, so you wouldn’t think finding one would be hard, right?

Wrong. Unlike the great white north, pumpkin patches in Florida are apparently as rare as needles in haystacks. What we embarked on was a four hour drive that spanned 8 towns and over 150 miles. We didn’t even bother with lunch. We got caught up in art festivals, dirt roads, and incredibly long lines.

So, you’re probably wanting to know was it worth it? You tell me:

He wouldn’t stop laughing the entire time…

And to top off the day, Jakson and I made our first fire together. He’s a regular old pyro!

The dog, if you’re curious, hates fire but never goes too far away…

Happy fall everyone!
