Last week was my five year anniversary to my wife, Steph. In those five amazing years, we’ve accomplished so much together: a house, started a family, launched my own author career, etc. However, the best stuff we’ve done together could only have been made possible by her.
Last September, she started Bolt Publishing, LLC. At first, I was reluctant to join her efforts as I didn’t want to overshadow her. God bless her, she went out and found authors who wanted to publish with her, an editor to shine the manuscripts up, and began establishing a brand. About a month later, we sat down and talked about our future and I realized that doing things by myself had only taken me so far. I handed her the keys to the kingdom I built and have yet to look back.
In the six (plus) months that she’s been running the company, she’s managed to successfully launch two books (Split Decision and Beyond the Stars) to rave reviews. She’s been featured on an international podcast and, under the Bolt Banner, helped get City of Chaos into the Amazon Top 100 during a free promo week in February. These are things I’d been trying to do for almost two and a half years, and here she’s done them in half a year.
Tomorrow is International Women’s Day and, even a day early, I’d like to express my utmost appreciation, love, and gratitude to my amazing wife. She works a fulltime job, gives our son Jak more love than what should be humanly possible, and still has time to embrace what started as my dream as her own. This is my standing on the mountain top moment and shouting it down for everyone to hear: Steph, you’re brilliant and being you’re partner in crime for the rest of my life was the best decision I’ve ever made. I love you.
Plus you’re a super good cook.
